A bottle of white, a bottle of red, perhaps a bottle of rosé instead.

It’s my husband’s 38th birthday, so we pre party by getting into a bottle he was gifted at Christmas…a 22 year old Cabernet Sauvignon, from Chateau Montelena. Just another Friday night right??
WRONG!!
This wine is the real deal, and as I opened it I can see the ring of sediment caked around the top of the bottle…a sign of delicious things to come. Of course then the cork breaks and I wonder how I’m going to fish out the other half. Victory is mine however, I manage to get it out in tact.

It reads like a bottle worthy of reverence. And the taste….
“It’s f’ng good”
That’s from the birthday boy. It’s a light bodied, fruit forward Cabernet, light on the tannins so unlike some other reds, I’m not left wishing for something to wet my whistle. Despite not giving it the proper time to “breathe” the flavor is rich (much thanks in part to my Pampered Chef wine aerator which can make even the worst wine taste damn good) and full bodied; the taste is slightly earthy with hints of berry.
Me personally, I’d take the bottle of rosé, but cheers to 38 years and more to come!!
