“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.” β Charles M. Schulz

When Valentine’s Day falls on a Thursday, it means work work work. SO I thought I would be nice and bring my coworkers some sweet treats to numb the pain of a work week not quite finished. After drooling ALL WEEK over their Instagram posts (@fiorellodolce) I knew that this had to be the place….also it’s on my way to the office so HELLO convenient!

I walked in, and thankfully, was the only patron there..I say thankfully, because I wanted everything, but also I had a lot of questions about everything! I needed chocolate to satiate the other ladies in my office, something with no white flour, something for my husband, and then I got carried away and just started adding items in. Not sorry.
The item that had first caught my eye, and is obviously the star of the show today are their Bronuts. I said, hmm donuts for your bros? Ok, why not. Upon trying them, I had a mental face-palm moment because obviously they are brioche donuts…not specific for bros (eyeroll). Heart shaped perfection dipped in dark chocolate and filled with thick raspberry jam, I ate mine faster than would be considered lady-like. I couldn’t help myself, also couldn’t help myself from all the yummmmmming I was doing, less than quietly. SO I MAY have bought all they had today?? No worries, you go in tomorrow to treat yo’self, I’ll take a day off.

Can you even with that filling???
Much to my surprise when 2 boxes and 2 bags of goodies later, my total only came to $32…5 bronuts, 6 cookies, 1 linzer heart, 1 Frenagel and 1 chocolate bacon croissant (I’ll get to those). What a great deal! I will definitely be stopping here more often on my way to work; won’t my co-workers just loooooove me?

The Frenagel…

OK so full disclosure, this was a spur of the moment addition, I really only intended to get sweets….but I’m a Long Island girl who can’t seem to quit on morning bagels, so this REALLLLLLY intrigued me. So many flaky layers, how can this not be amazing?
Described as a French doughnut-bagel hybrid, the cronut-like creation is topped with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, and sea salt and then filled with scallion cream cheese….heck yes please! I will say, it’s a little messy to eat, those flaky layers come back to bite you by leaving their pieces allllll over your desk, but it tastes so good! And it’s not as big or as filling as your typical bagel, which was great because, did you see how many pastries I had to deal with?
The Chocolate Bacon Croissant…

Also a last minute add-in, because it’s Thursday which means no Valentine’s plans for me and my Husband tonight…what better way to show a man you love him though, than with BACON and CHOCOLATE? So yeah, that seemed like an easy valentines win for me. And I was right, Wife of the Year award coming my way π #PROTIP: To put this bad boy over the top, heat it up in the micro/toaster oven for 15 seconds or so….warm chocolatey bacon in a croissant tastes even better
All in All, I am in love with Fiorello Dolce…and having lived here with it so close for so many years, I’m honestly kicking myself for not getting in there sooner. Oh well, I will make up for lost time, starting today when I eat my way into a sugar coma…wish me luck!! β€
